Hemorrhoids: prevent them with food

It is a more common ailment than you think but you do not talk about it for embarrassment. We start, however, with a premise: we have all the hemorrhoids , they are in fact enlarged blood vessels placed in the last part of the rectum that play an important role in evacuation and fecal continence. They normally do not give any trouble but can become pathological when they swell and can bleed as well as becoming very annoying or painful.

The causes are various, certainly there is a hereditary component but also unhealthy lifestyle habits can facilitate the onset of the disorder: obesity, sedentary life, constipation. Therefore, the correct diet can be a valid ally for prevention.

The diet is similar to that recommended for the fight against constipation so it is appropriate to integrate a good amount of fiber with bran, legumes, fruits and vegetables. Food rich in iron such as melon is also recommended. Choose fruit juice to black currant, blueberry or generally dark fruits as they are rich in antioxidants that improve the tone and blood circulation. It also ginger , garlic and onion as they promote the breakdown of a protein, fibrin, which helps repair damage in tissues. Dairy products and yogurt are also good, with probiotics preferred.
