Cosmetics and health: toxic chemicals also in natural celebrated products

For some time now I am convinced of the extreme importance of preferring a diet based on organic and natural products , mainly made up of vegetables and fruit and, above all, to the production carried out according to industrial methods , very often rich in preservatives and chemical products used for maximize revenues.

The same reasoning on food can be conducted on the use of products for everyday cosmetics : are we really aware of the substances that are contained in the most common cosmetic products that we use every day for our hygiene?

So I started to inform myself about these topics and I found a very interesting site (www.biodonimi.it) that allows, through its extensive database, to verify the harmfulness of those substances that are very often reported on the labels of cosmetic products with names and initials to the most unknown.

I highly recommend everyone to try to verify, even just out of curiosity, the ingredients that are contained for example in the soap you have in the bathroom, or in the shampoo you use almost daily.

Analyzing a common product that I used some time ago I found inside Butylphenyl Methylpropional (fragrance of synthetic origin, can give rise to sensitizations, allergies and irritations), Carbomer (is an oil-based gelling agent, a synthetic resin, similar to plexiglass, not biodegradable in any way that therefore ends up directly in the food chain), Propylene Glycol (oil-based solvent, better known as antifreeze liquid for radiators, able to exert its solvent action on the skin ...), together with other substances "a little less "dangerous!

But the most disconcerting thing was the result of the analysis of two products belonging to a line that claims 99% of plant origin and therefore biological , of which I do not give the name to avoid any problems.
